The Perfect Imperfect Job

I've been a mom now for over 33 years and I have loved every moment.  Not because I have raised three of the worlds most perfect humans, but because the "mothering" experience has forced me to view the world through the eyes of three distinctly different individuals in order to meet their needs.

As my children began to shape their thoughts and opinions about their environment, I had to put my own aside and look through their lenses.  It never fails to amaze me how much I learn about life when I see it from their point of view.

Don't get me wrong, we often disagree but as we have all grown up (Yup! Parents grow up too!) we have come to understand our differences and our choices.  Fortunately, that understanding has combined with a mutual love and respect which makes it possible for each of us to flourish within our family dynamic.

We definitely haven't "arrived" to the level of "perfection."  But our journey has been a lifetime of figuring out the best way to love and support on another.  It can only keep getting better!
